At Social Learning For Littles, we believe that every child has an opportunity to thrive as they grow and learn. We focus on parent empowerment for the healthy growth and development of young children. Our approach is rooted in a rich foundation of early childhood development, strength-based culturally responsive parent and caregiver support, trauma-informed care, and the desire to see families and communities equipped to impact the next generation of young BIPOC children.
Jamesetta Ross Diggs lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota with her family; her husband, and two growing children. She is a certified Parent Coach & Educator and the founder of Social Learning For Littles. Through Social Learning for Littles, she partners with community organizations to provide services and resources that meet the diverse needs of families with young children. Working directly with the African community in Northwest Minneapolis, Jamesetta strongly believes that as an organized community, parents can take an active lead for their youths and littles to succeed in learning and life.
Jamesetta has served families and young children for more than ten years in different capacities as a preschool teacher, family educator, parenting coach, teacher trainer, and early childhood consultant.
She enjoys outdoors with her family, biking, swimming, hiking, and reading children’s books. As an advocate, Jamesetta supports community-based, culturally relevant programs, and resources to meet the needs of families with young children in marginalized communities. In 2023, she initiated the African Parents Collaborative to organize African and Immigrant parents into a community for promoting equitable and accessible early childhood programs for African children.
We envision communities where young children have rich early experiences and interactions within their socio-cultural environment. Social Learning For Littles works to create opportunities where families thrive and are wholly equipped with relevant tools to parent responsively and support young children’s development and learning.
Our vison is to see families empowered and communities engaged with the assurance that each child has the chance to grow into a caring and capable individual.
To achieve this goal.,
– We design and create early learning resources for parents to support everyday development and learning at home.
– We empower parents and caregivers to build meaningful connections with young children and support learning, lead with consistency and compassion, and provide experiences for children to grow more caring and capable everyday.
– We engage communities to lay strong early foundations that create pathways for families to nurture young children’s healthy growth and development.
